Where can I find real estate details related to the missing municipalities?

Popp published the cadastral maps and matrices of 1733 municipalities (see description and map). Of these 1733 municipalities, 1.253 were included in the POPPKAD names register. Anyone looking for real estate details from the other municipalities can consult images of the matrices and maps from Popp's Atlas of Belgium on the Royal Library website. Most documents are searchable via the catalogue (external link) (this digital collection is still incomplete but will be rounded out in the future).

Unfortunately, Popp was not able to publish a cadastral Atlas for every Belgian municipality. No cadastral details at the level of owners or plots were published for 826 municipalities (mainly located in the arrondissement Turnhout and the provinces of Limburg, Luxembourg and Namur) in the middle of the nineteenth century. Anyone who wants to track down this data should consult the archives of the General Administration of Patrimonial Documentation (AAPD). In some municipal archives one may find copies of the cadastral registers and maps.
