2. REAL ESTATE AND SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
Compared to the importance that real estate represents on diverse sectors of social life, we don't know enough about the development of real estate possession. The heart of the research is focused on micro-studies in which the question of representativeness often remains unanswered. Research still contends with a lack of studies that can map the processes in different geographic entities and that deliver the necessary elements for a balanced synthesis. The reason for this gap must be sought in the source material. Insufficient statistics have been preserved on a national level that shed light on the development of landownership relations in different regions and municipalities in Belgium. The gap in our knowledge can be filled based on the data files of the land registry.
